Press release – Vegan Academy and Culinairy Institute Ter Groene Poorte enter into collaboration.
On Thursday 15 September 2022, the Vegan Academy and Ter Groene Poorte’s cookery and pastry school will launch a collaboration. On that day, the Vegan Academy will immerse the specialisation years CHEF! and Pastry and Chocolate Processing in creative food workshops. These workshops will be all about vegan cooking and vegan pastry.
Vegan Academy’s ambition is to play an important role in developing and popularising plant-based gastronomy. Food education Ter Groene Poorte aims to be a leader in all aspects of our contemporary food. Vegan food is on the rise and therefore fits perfectly within the school’s sustainable vision.
Challenge
The workshops on 15 September are the kick-off for a course where students will take on a challenge to develop a number of vegan products and recipes. Under the guidance of teachers at Ter Groene Poorte and with input from the Vegan Academy.
To shape the project, Ter Groene Poorte and the Vegan Academy are working together. The Vegan Academy is a cooking school for the home cook and the professional chef & baker. Through vegan Academy’s online environment, you follow courses and Masterclasses that cover the entire flavour palette of vegan. From the chef course Taste & Texture, through Croquettes and Bitterballs, Vegan Street Food and Classic Italian to Vegan Pastry.
Themes that perfectly match the learning content in ter Groene Poorte’s specialisation years. With the collaboration, Vegan Academy and Ter Groene Poorte want to showcase that vegan food has a place within serious gastronomy and is a healthy and sustainable choice.
For Ter Groene Poorte, this is a pilot project with the aim of bringing other specialisation years into contact with vegan food later on. The school profiles itself with an and/and story. Product knowledge and craftsmanship are central to translate this on the plate.
